Throughout my life, I have been helping others in one way or another. I am:
My experiences in these various roles have led me to my career in psychotherapy. Currently, I spend much of my time studying and learning therapeutic techniques to help guide others from deep suffering and emotional pain, toward healing the mind, body and spirit. Most recently I have completed a 3-year study in Somatic Experiencing*. This is an amazing, gentle technique developed by Peter Levine to help heal trauma. You can learn more about SE here.
Even when your path seems darkest, there is hope and light along the way.
It takes courage to face demons from the past and move forward with strength and hope toward the future. My own journey began at a very young age. Since I was a young girl, I have had many experiences teaching me that healing is possible.
Our stories may differ, but the themes are the same.
I know what it is like to grow up believing that no matter what you do, you are not good enough, you don’t deserve, you are not worthy, pretty, or smart enough. From the time we are just little girls we are surrounded by so many different messages it is hard to figure out who we are. As women, growing up in a culture that expects perfection at everything (looks, sports, intellect, virtue etc.) we have tried to do our best, but we’ve become exhausted with other’s inability to hear, see or connect with our authenticity.
When we learn to have compassion for ourselves, in all our beautiful imperfection, we can extend that compassion to others.
